  not everyone was happy with a swede at the helm of england's football team.. for followers of english football, defeat is a way of life.

  but however hard losing may be, the idea that a foreign coach could turn around england's fortunes was even more depressing.. at least that's how some sports commentators reacted to the appointment of sven goran eriksson to the country's top sporting job.

  humiliation enough that a foreign coach has been drafted in to save football's mother country, but that he should be swedish would appear to be a step too far for some.

  This World Cup seems to favour any team who has developed the art of falling over like they've been shot at the slightest touch from an opposition player. Ronaldo and tackling 'hardman' Carvalho are two of the worst.

  Rooney's only crime was staying on his feet while Carvalho fouled him at least twice. By this stage Carvalho was sat spread legged on the floor right behind Rooney's left studs and deserved to have his nuts cracked.

  Then there was Henry's Oscar winning performance against the Spannish. Let's bring back fair hard tackling and get rid of this cheating culture.

  I'm sure not every JW is as well educated in 'basic' grammar as you are Dozy. Most witnesses would think that Grayson supports the society's dates.

  (I'm presuming you didn't have to look this bit of basic grammar up on the internet!)

  I've just been given the first series and part of the second series on DVD by a friend. Took me just over a week to watch them. It's the best thing I've seen on TV for a long long time! Not sure what it's all about yet!

  Just for Dozy, I am one ex-witness who has never spread this story, knows there is nothing to this story, realises the watchtower's wealth is in the hundreds of MILLIONS not billions, and doesn't give a monkeys about RandCam.

  A corporation as complex as the Watchtower will have these kind of financial links somewhere in the chain.

  truthsetsonefree has provided spiritual food at the proper time by emailing me these scans.... this is the little hand-bill invitation for the next district convention that we've been hearing about.

  considering the fact that most jws never actually read such things before handing them out, i suspect that many people will be given these things but never actually told when and where the convention will be held!

  on the back it says: "the local congregation of jehovahs witnesses invites you to attend the convention that will be held at the time and location shown here.

  ok so its late and i wanted to share with you (my friends here if i have got any yet) what happened.

  the evening starts off peaceful, but it ended with the old debates with me and mum.

  evidence i found on sites was apostate, on page it was wrong so in the end i had to show her the original source of information.

  Just a word of caution, lines 11 and 12 of the chronicle simply say:

  11. In the seventh year, the month of Kislev, the king of Akkad mustered his troops, marched to the Hatti-land,
  12. and encamped against (i.e. besieged) the city of Judah and on the second day of the month of Adar he seized the city and captured the king.

  So we know from this that old Nebi first captured Jerusalem in his 7th year. But we only know his 7th year was 598/597 BC because of the thousands of business and administrative documents, hundreds of astronomical tablets and diaries and also comparisons with kinglists that give us a complete neo-Babylonian chronology.

  So on it's own this tablet can't be used to date the first capture, but together with all the other evidence we can pinpoint the event to 15/16th March 597 BC.
